Over a decade after his breakout success, Atlanta’s own Mykko Montana is showing the world that he has only sharpened his craft with time. Bursting onto the scene in 2012 with his electrifying single “Do It” featuring K Camp, Mykko quickly carved out a space for himself among Atlanta’s rising stars. With his new release “Brian Pumper,” he’s proving that his journey is far from over.

“Mykko Montana has been a force in the music scene since his breakout,” reads his Spotify About Me page. With standout projects like Rich Chocolate (2018), No Stylist (2021), and his 2024 project Double M CantWait Aka PJB, Mykko has continued to evolve, embracing new sounds while staying true to the raw energy that fans first fell in love with. Collaborations with heavyweights like Young Thug and Gunna further solidified his place in the Atlanta rap pantheon. Currently averaging well over 118,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, Mykko’s music is connecting with a new wave of fans as well as day-ones who have been with him from the start.

Talking about the process behind “Brian Pumper,” Mykko kept it real and direct.
“I really rap about my life in 3 party in my everyday living and I love what I rap about and I put it in my art of music,” he said. “It took me under 45 mins to record this record in and out no writing.”

When it comes to his favorite line on the track, Mykko shared one that captures the playful, unapologetic vibe he’s known for.
“Send my girl to Rumors so she can shake haass and titties yeahhhhh,” he laughed. “Umm it’s just a true story lol.”

For Mykko, “Brian Pumper” represents more than just another release, it signals the growth of his creative process.
“It means a lot because it’s a part of my new craft of how I create my music,” he explained.

The excitement he had making the record was clear, and he made it known that the experience was all positive.
“I actually enjoyed creating this record,” he said simply.

Inspiration for “Brian Pumper” came naturally to Mykko, who leaned into the fun and energy of the moment.
“It was fun catchy and actually exciting to see me create and come up with these unique titles,” he said.

While many artists pull from a wide range of influences, Mykko made it clear that this record was all him, though he did offer a shoutout.
“Not at all but s/o to my dawg Alex Huncho,” he said.

Production wise, Mykko stayed true to his instincts rather than aiming for a specific sound or genre.
“Not at all,” he said when asked if he targeted a certain pocket.

The chemistry between Mykko and the track’s producer, who hails from overseas, also played a big role in the final product.
“He from overseas I work hand to hand with him great producer he know how to create my sound,” Mykko said.

As for the future of the “Brian Pumper” concept, Mykko is keeping the momentum rolling.
“I’ma continue to release more heat,” he said.

Looking ahead to the rest of 2024, Mykko’s plans stay rooted in his passion and his brand. His independent movement, Fly or Crash, reflects his grind and his close-knit team.
“All glory be to God,” Mykko said. “Fly or Crash shoutout to my team. I offer a lot past music, I’m a renaissance man. It’s all independent got a tight team I work close with I’m thankful for them all.”
