Detroit rapper Rixh Prez is gaining steady momentum with his latest release “BAE” — a playful, female-focused single that’s showing a new side of the artist. The official music video, shot by his longtime collaborator Masalis, is already sitting at 8.9K views on YouTube, and growing by the day.
Rixh says the idea for the video came together naturally. “The vision behind ‘BAE’ was just fitting in my normal day and shooting a video,” he explained. “My jeweler and my camera man really came up with the theme on the spot.”
The track itself was made to uplift and speak directly to women. “The goal was always to speak to the females. A song for them to be whatever they feel. Classy or ratchet,” he said. “It was important for the females to feel good and have fun.”
The energy on set matched the vibe of the record. “It was a lot of bloopers in the video,” Rixh said. “I’m naturally silly so I had everyone laughing.”
Even though the sound is different from what fans may be used to, it still comes from a real place. “All them bars came from real life,” he said. “I feel like all females wanna be provided for and given some good love — but sometimes it make them crazy.”
The video’s success hasn’t just lived on YouTube — the “BAE” sound is starting to gain traction on TikTok, especially with video vixens, nightlife girls, and creators who are using the audio to show off their look or lifestyle. The lyrics, vibe, and energy feel naturally shareable — and Rixh isn’t surprised. “The song ‘BAE’ was something different from my normal music but it’s something I will continue to do,” he said. “I can definitely hear it on the radio… it’s made to have fun with.”
Still, he’s not chasing clout or numbers. “I try not to pay attention to the numbers. I keep my head down and get to the money.”
And even though he doesn’t normally feature women in his videos, this one was different. “It showed a softer side of me in my opinion. I just hope they enjoy it.”
With more music in the works, Rixh Prez is staying focused on growth. “What’s next for me is just keep making new music. Hit every category and build the brand bigger.”
